About My Queenstown Museum

Created with Sketch.
introduction

Queenstown – Singapore’s first satellite town – is home to many historical landmarks such as the nation’s first HDB flats at Stirling Road, first branch library at Margaret Drive and first flatted factory at Commonwealth Drive. By 2024, it will also come to host the historic town’s first ever permanent museum. To be located at Block 30A Margaret Drive, the My Community project will showcase old photographs, artefacts and exhibits contributed by residents and serve as a social space for young and old from all walks of life.

About

My Community’s first community museum, Museum @ My Queenstown, was opened in December 2018 and was completely funded and curated by Queenstown residents and volunteers. Museum @ My Queenstown celebrates the little things that make Queenstown special. It is a community space that is near and dear to many residents of Queenstown and volunteers of My Community.

Museum @ My Queenstown will be closed from 30 July 2022 with the impending redevelopment of Tanglin Halt under SERS. Do keep a look out for our upcoming permanent 300sqm My Queenstown Museum at Block 30A Margaret Drive.

In the meantime, learn more about Queenstown’s rich history and get a chance to be up close and personal to old artefacts (including the iconic neon pink sign from the demolished Queenstown Cinema and Bowling Alley!), photographs and interesting stories from residents with our virtual exhibitions here.
